This was some of the best BBQ I've enjoyed in a really long time. The sauces were masterpieces in flavor and the different meats were perfectly cooked. They have spoiled me when it comes to BBQ. We happened upon it on our travels and don't know when we'll get back. I wish Preacher's the best and continued success in all their endeavors.

Been trying to get here for a couple of years now. Wow, I waited too long. Amazing bbq. I got the burnt ends, charleston stew and green beans. Every bite as good as the last. My only complaint...I should have ordered more. Don't pass on this place. It's worth the trek out of town to try it. Oh, and prices are not astronomical like in town.
My partner and I travel for mural work, and we’re always on the lookout for great local food. Preachers Smokehouse exceeded expectations in every way. The service was impeccable (the owner was incredibly kind— he gave us a sample of the ribs and bruinswick stew, and both were incredible). We ended up getting the Hog Trough with pork and a burnt ends sandwich. Their burnt ends are sweet, and just phenomenal. There wasn’t a bad thing on the menu, and we can’t wait to return and try the rest of the menu. They sell their hot sauces (all were delicious) and we ended up taking home their traditional hot sauce. The prices are fantastic (the sandwiches were 6-8 dollar each) and everything was top notch. Don’t let this one slip by you if you’re in the area— 11/10, would and will absolutely recommend to everyone.
Sam's place was recommended by the owner of FoxFire. We stopped in and ordered brisket and ribs with baked beans, potato salad, Mac and cheese and hush puppies. The ribs were fall off the bone and brisket was a tender as could be. Sam's rub and sauces were amazing, especially the carolina style vinegar sauce. Everything was delicious, but the real treat was getting to know Sam and his long time friend, JR. Sam was so kind as to not only bring us additional ribs to try but he sent us home with some of his rub. Can't wait to try it out and wish Sam a continued recovery from his recent illness. Small place. Bomb food. Had the burnt ends meal with mac n cheese and fries. Wife had the trough fries with pulled pork and banana pudding. We are still fun and it has been hours! Lots of food for the price. Very reasonable. We live there was seating outside. Glad it was suggested to us.
We are regular visitors of the Smokies, and we just found this gem! So much time wasted not eating here! This is the BEST BBQ we've ever had in this area. The ribs and banana pudding are absolutely heavenly! We tried the sampler, and everything was great. The service is friendly and fantastic. We will definitely be back!!!
This was the best barbecue I have ever had. We went and we got the sampler for 45. It was the perfect amount of food for 2 young college kids. You could get an incredible sandwich meal for about 13 too! I will do whatever it takes to come back to this place when I’m near Gatlinburg again.
